Refund policy

Refunds and Returns Policy:

We offer a 30-day return policy in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

Under our 30-day return policy, you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase and a tracking number. If you do not provide proof of postage and the item does not arrive, we cannot claim compensation for the missing item, and your return will be void.

To start a return, you can contact us at unionshop@sussexstudent.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. You are responsible for paying the postage and packaging for any return you make, and this is non-refundable. If an item is faulty, incorrect or defective, then in this instance we shall cover the cost of return.

Should you require a refund, we will refund the total cost of the goods only, not the postage and packaging. Exceptions to this are if the item was defective, damaged, or you received the wrong item in your order.

Should you require an exchange, you will be required to pay for the postage and packaging of the exchange.

Important - Any parcels that are returned to us due to the address being incomplete will not be refunded. We will refund the cost of the items but not the cost of the postage, as this is a cost that we are unable to claim back. Please be sure that when you enter your shipping address, you check carefully for accuracy, as once an item is shipped, we are unable to recall the parcel.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exchanges 

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund has been approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

Your statutory rights (UK consumers)

Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights.

If you are purchasing as a consumer within the United Kingdom, you may have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods without giving a reason, subject to applicable exclusions.

To exercise your right to cancel, please contact us at unionshop@sussexstudent.com within 14 days of receiving your order. Once cancellation has been requested, items should be returned within 14 days.

Where cancellation rights apply, we will refund the cost of the goods and the standard outbound delivery charge. You may be responsible for the cost of returning the goods unless the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or otherwise required by law.
