Refund policy

Refunds and Returns Policy:

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase and a tracking number. If you do not provide proof of postage and the item does not arrive, we cannot claim compensation for the missing item, and your return will be void.

To start a return, you can contact us at unionshop@sussexstudent.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. You are responsible for paying the postage and packaging for any return you make, and this is non-refundable.  

Should you require a refund, we will refund the total cost of the goods only, not the postage and packaging. Exceptions to this are if the item was defective, damaged, or you received the wrong item in your order.

Should you require an exchange, you will be required to pay for the postage and packaging of the exchange.

Important - Any parcels that are returned to us due to the address being incomplete will not be refunded. We will refund the cost of the items but not the cost of the postage, as this is a cost that we are unable to claim back. Please be sure that when you enter your shipping address, you check carefully for accuracy, as once an item is shipped, we are unable to recall the parcel.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exchanges 

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund has been approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

International Orders – Returns

You have 30 days from receipt of your order to request a return. To be eligible, items must be returned unused, unworn, with tags, in their original packaging, and with proof of purchase and a tracking number.

Please contact unionshop@sussexstudent.com before sending any returns. Returns sent without prior authorisation will not be accepted. Customers are responsible for all return postage and packaging costs, which are non-refundable. Refunds will be issued for the cost of the goods only, excluding original shipping charges and duties, unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect. Where an exchange is requested, postage and packaging costs for the replacement item must also be covered by the customer.

If a parcel is returned to us because the delivery address provided was incomplete or inaccurate, we will refund the cost of the items only and not the original shipping charge. If the parcel is destroyed at customs due to non-payment of duties, then no refund will be given.
